Our Mission
To live according to the tenets of continuous improvement, a company must constantly look for ways to do things better. To make a commitment to profound positive change, a company must have a creed, a philosophy of improvement clearly understood and practiced by its people.
As we begin our second century in the metals business, we felt it was time once again to ask ourselves some very basic questions. We, like our predecessors, have contemplated these same questions often throughout the past 100 years:
Who are we?
What do we believe?
What are our top priorities?
How can we better serve our customers?
Where do we want to be tomorrow, next year and in five years?
You might think that because we have been in business for so long that we would know who we are! But the marketplace constantly changes and just when you think that you know who you are, it’s time to change.
To address the first question above - “Who are We?” we have formalized a new Mission Statement. This creed embodies the principles that we are committed to embrace.
Huntington Steel & Supply Co. will strive to be an ethical and model corporate citizen, dedicated to understanding the needs of our customers and satisfying those needs with quality products and services by training and developing our people. The Huntington Steel team will create a culture that is focused on the development of relationships, in a family business setting, that are mutually beneficial to all; thus ensuring our long-term survival through the profitability of our customers, our vendors, our employees, and our company.
To maintain proper focus on the journey into our second century, we will review this statement of purpose often so it becomes a system of belief for each of us.
